Robert Summerill
Robert Summerill is a third year Public Policy PhD student at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at GSU. His research focus is on educational and urban policy. Robert earned his Master of Social Work, with a concentration in Public Administration and Policy, from Florida State University in 2016 and a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology in 2011 from the University of Manchester.
Ranja Andriamanana
Ranja Andriamanana is a recent MPA graduate of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. She graduated with honors from the University of New Mexico with a dual degree in Economics and Political Science. Her policy interests include higher education, affordable housing, public transportation, and international relations. A native of Madagascar, Ranja plans to have a career that involves working in different parts of the world and experience different cultures.
Jennifer Bashford
After graduating from Davidson College, Jennifer Bashford spent nine years in the financial services industry, while also pursuing a master’s degree in strategic communications from Queens University. Her work with older clients, financial education, and nursing home volunteer experience led her to pursue a master’s degree in gerontology at the University of Southern California. Jennifer consulted with the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging, an intergovernmental agency providing services and resources across the metro Atlanta region, before continuing with her doctoral degree in public policy. As a PhD student, Jennifer has presented research on elderly prisoners, physician assisted suicide and public opinion, and natural disasters and vulnerable populations. She recently won an award from NASPAA for her research on criminal justice.
